Predecessor to Appalachian Stove & Fabricators' Model 30 CD (List Price: $2,299.00), the Model 28 has the same efficiency as the Model 30 CD (72%) and a heat output of 9,500-16,300 BTU/hr. Using the integrated three speed blower, Appalachian Stove indicates that the Model 28 can heat 1,000 - 2,000 Square feet with 18" wood. The Model 28 can be used either free standing or as a fireplace insert by selecting the appropriate trim or foot kits which are available online or through many wood stove stores. Dimensions are 21 1/2" wide at the back and 29" wide at the maximum recess into the fireplace, 19" deep, and 19 1/2" tall.
